Launching the Pact for Industrial Renaissance in the Galati-Braila area through the “DANUBE KNOWLEDGE & INNOVATION UNIVERSITY”
As a follow-up of the election, at the EUSDR Forum in Ulm, of the CLDR Association within the Executive Board of CoDCR and within the Board of Danubius Academic Consortium, on the 19th of November 2015, at the headquarters of the Danubius University in Galati, it was organised a Reunion dedicated to the establishing of the action ways and major projects to be submitted to Brussels by the member clusters and other CLDR entities.
In the presence of Lord Mayor of Galati, Mr. Marius STAN, member of the CoDCR Board, of the Prefect of the Galati County, Mr. Dorin ORTICOL, of the representative of the Romanian Academy, Acad. Alexandru T. BOGDAN and of the Rector of Danubius University, Prof. Andy PUSCA, as well as of other about 50 personalities and guests, CLDR Romania launched a Pact for Industrial Renaissance in the area of Galati-Braila through a series of ambitious projects and other significant initiatives within the implementation process of the Danube Strategy.
As a first step, Danubius University and the other participating universities and research institutes within the Inter-Academic Co-operation Center, coordinated by CLDR, with the support of the Romanian Academy, and hosted by Spiru Haret University decided to establish a future Technology Transfer Center in Galati area. This initiative also enjoys of the interest and support from: the Center for Bio-Diversity of the Romanian Academy, Knowledge Management Institute Romania, ACRAFE, the National Council for Export, the National Institute of Mecatronics, CODATU Association, the Industrial Park Galati etc.
The organisers informed about the idea of submitting a project aimed to establish a “Danube Knowledge & Innovation University” with the scientific support of the International Institute of Integral Innovation (Baden Wurttemberg land). This project plans to radically change the current curricular approach in the Romanian and other partner universities in order to stimulate the graduation of responsible and self-confident young specialists, able to develop their own start-ups and commercialise their innovative products and services within a larger context.
In the same context, the CLDR Executive President, Mr Sever AVRAM, promoted the special recommendation included in the CoDCR Ulm Declaration, regarding the establishing of the position of “Danubian Officer” within all municipalities and county councils or universities aiming to take part to projects financed through European Funds for relaunching the Danube Macro-Region.
Most of guests and speakers stressed the importance of a much more consistent and clear support from the Ministry of European Funds, Ministry of Public Finance and Ministry of Regional Development in promoting and ensuring the co-financing of major priority projects selected by CLDR and introduced for obtaining a favorable opinion from “ARGE Donau” Working Groups in Vienna.
The event was recorded by the TVH Bucharest and the TV Channel of Danubius University. CLDR Romania is waiting for suggestions and recommendations and new requests for affiliation to CLDR coming from institutions and local communities.
